Mayor Carver provided an update to the media today at 1 p.m. on the city’s ongoing water restoration efforts.
While the water tower being filled is a positive step, the mayor emphasized that there is still work to be done. Residents are urged to continue following the do not use order until the city notifies them that it is safe to use tap water.
Mayor Carver thanked Indianola Municipal Utilities, the Iowa Rural Water Association, West Des Moines Public Works, Urbandale Water Utility, Strand Engineering, Killen Construction, and Warren County Emergency Management for lending their time and expertise to the restoration effort. He also thanked Hy-Vee, Fareway, and Casey’s for donating water to the community.
As water service is restored, the city will send residents instructions on what steps to take. Please do not take any action with your water lines until you are told to do so.
