We had a great Lunch and Learn meeting at the Des Moines International Airport with guest speaker Executive Director, Kevin Foley. Kevin gave us an update on all the new facilities at the airport, runways, new roadways in and out of the airport. We even went to the old tower to view the incoming and outgoing planes, all the new buildings, and construction going on.

Kevin mentioned that air travel is slowly coming back since the epidemic in 2020. Leisure travel is up, where business travel is still down. Des Moines has added Allegiant with many direct flights at a great cost and makes for great competition for all other airlines. Kevin also shared all the new ways to check-in when traveling. So be sure you have your driver’s license along with other documentation such as a passport. Remember to get the gold star on your driver’s license. Always check when traveling what you need when traveling.

We are lucky to have the Des Moines International Airport, the cost for travel is down, no need to travel to Omaha or other cities for a cheaper flight. We have them right here in Des Moines. As mentioned, Allegiant has added several non-stop flights, along with many other of our airlines flying in and out of Des Moines.

Thank you to the Carlisle School for allowing us to travel on one of their school buses and bus driver Jason Bradshaw for getting us there safely and Via of Carlisle for your sponsorship.
